Bad Night for the Yanks

Bottom line....We probably weren't beating Halladay anyway even if we didn't give up 14 runs. But we drop another series and you can't keep dropping series. We are at the point that we have to start getting some sweeps to make a run at this thing.

Since the 8 game winning streak we had after the All-Star Break, has this team shown any sign of putting together another hot streak? We need to sweep the O's this weekend. But that will be difficult because...

Carl Pavano is the scheduled starter on Saturday. Are we desperate for starting pitching or what?!?!

Pavano is pitching for his next heist...uh...I mean contract. So, I fully expect him to pitch well the rest of the year. Then, over the winter, he'll sign with another team and he'll be comeback player of the year. So, effectively he'll continue to screw the Yanks even after his brittle azz is gone. If I was the Yanks, I wouldn't pitch him at all. Why should he get a chance to audition for other clubs at our expense?

So when you wonder why we are hanging our hopes on kids like Hughes, Kennedy & Joba, it's because of deals like Pavano's: 4 YEARS, $40 MILLION, 5 WINS.
